Balloon Wine
anyone know how to make balloon wine?
Balloons were used in homebrewing back before we had airlocks. All you do is put the balloon on the jug, and leave it sit until the balloon has deflated, and it’s ‘ready to drink’.
Really, as far as a recipe goes, you can use any kind of juice (so long as it’s 100% juice, no preservatives, no additives). Apple juice, grape juice, etc. Then mix this together with some sugar (about 1/2 a pound – 1 pound per gallon will be enough), and add yeast. You will want to use wine yeast, not bread yeast… DO NOT USE BREAD YEAST TO MAKE WINE, the finished product is drinkable, but tastes like crap.
Go to your local homebrew shop, and pick up some wine yeast. While you’re there, get a rubber stopper and a fermentation airlock. Then mix these all together in a glass jug, and let it sit for a couple months.

If you are serious about homebrewing, your best bet would be to pick up a ‘starter kit’ from one of the homebrew shops. This kit includes all the equipment you would need to make 5 gallons of wine at a time.
