But what happens before Spring Break turns into a business.
Brandon Weimer and Leah Post just wanted to make some toffee and get some cash
so they could take a class trip to Italy. They started in October of 2006,
giving themselves plenty of time. And in six weeks, they’d raised the money.
SIX WEEKS. ITALY. WITH TOFFEE.
So that’s what’s going on with the Brandini Poppers and Toffee here. Butter,
pure cane sugar, chocolate and almonds have been assembled and designed and
redesigned until today, when Brandini Toffee has been considered a finalist at
the NASFT, which is big stuff in the food world. In fact, Brandini Toffee were
awarded their Gold Sofi from chef Jacque Pepin himself! They’ve been on Martha
Stewart and are carried in many specialty stores… not too shabby for a couple
of kids just trying to pay for Spring Break!
