Fire Damage Restoration
"Protein Smoke & Odor"
Some examples of this would be burned meat, overcooked eggs, freezer failures, ect.
This type of loss has some distinct characteristics. The first is a very strong and acrid odor that can be challenging to remove. We have several deodorizational tools for controlling and eliminating the odor. The most effective method of deodorization is an ozone generator. Ozone gas is very effective at eliminating odor as it destroys odor molecules rather than covering or "masking" them. Another unique characteristic is the residue that is left behind after a protein fire. At first it is sticky and clear and as it looses its moisture content it becomes yellowish and crusty.
