shelves along the top of my walls??

I collect frog figurines and I have two standing shelves full of them. It kinda takes up a lot of space so I thought to take the actual shelf off and cut it in half long ways and place them along the top of my walls with my frogs on them. I’m scared to see how it will turn out. How do you guys think it will look?? Does anyone have a pic of shelves along the wall that I can see?? Thanks.

I did this and I love it. I collect old pitchers and put them up that way to display. I painted a board and off white and of course use brackets, but they were made of wood also (I like the country look). My room looks like this one one whole wall I have tongue and groove paneling that goes from the floor base boards to the bottom of the shelf. The bottom half is painted a soft county white as well as the shelf and brackets, and then above that is a nice country green. I really like my shelf and of course my husband grumbled but I have had many compliments on it, and he is proud of it also. He did use a wood router on the outer edge of the shelf so that it had a decorative edge not just a blunt edge.
