Glass Casserole
Can I make a pie in a glass dish?
My BF told me he had pie pans. I’ve searched the entire kitchen, and I give up!
I have 3 clear-glass casserole dishes. Two of them are 8×8 inches, and I think the other is 9X12 (it doesn’t say on the bottom). Will my pie/s turn out just as good this way?
I wanted to make two pies, so should I use the one big on or the two small ones? Also, do I need to grease the bottom (the crust will have tons of Crisco in it).

Yes… you can use glass bakeware to make pies.
I have glass pie pans and I’ve also made pies (fruit and pot pies) in 8 x 8 and 9 x 13 pyrex dishes.
They all turned out fine.
No need to grease the bottom.
I found that greasing the bottom and baking a blank shell causes more shrinkage in the pie shell. A clean, ungreased glass dish will have enough friction to minimize shrinking (little sliding between the glass and crust), but still allow the pie to serve up without the crust sticking.
Also, as you mentioned, the crisco will bake out and self-lubricate the glass dish.
