Is it ok to give my son’s 2nd grade teacher a wine glass as a Christmas gift?

It is a hand painted red wine glass. Hand painted with a really pretty flower. I thought of maybe filling it with Ferraro Roche chocolates or something. But I don’t want it to be an inappropriate gift.
I forgot to mention, I grew up with the teacher’s daughter. So I have known her for almost 20 years. But we’ve been out of contact for about 10 years.

I know that teachers get, what my mother calls, dust collectors all the time. If you want to give the teacher a gift I’ve found they prefer things that don’t lie around. Think of it this way: 1 teacher teaches on average 25 students per year. Assume that teacher has been teaching for at least 10 years, that is 250 students. Now lets say 10 of those students give her gifts per year, that is 100 little knick-knacks you’ve got laying around.

Perhaps just sending in chocolates or something would be suitable. I got a teacher a gift card to a movie store once and I know she loved it.
