Spiritually speaking, are promise rings cheesy?

I bought this ring for my girlfriend from Cozumel a couple weeks ago, but I’m not sure if I should give it to her.

It has a small purple/green opal as the center. The ring is silver and the band is pretty thin. There are two smaller stones on both sides too. It looks good and her favorite color is purple while mine is green, so it seemed fitting.

What do you think? Too cheesy?

The ring sounds nice.
I don’t think promise rings are cheesy. I think they are a nice in between gesture…more than a girlfriend but not quite ready to be engaged.
