Old Pressed Glass
Any ideas what I can do about the problem I have with giving gifts?
I always think I’ve found the perfect gifts for people I give to, but when they unwrap it the look on their face is anything but pleased. You’d think I wrapped up a kitty doodle from the litterbox! I feel I’ve wasted my time and money.
I know one aunt who loves tea, so last year got her a tea sampler. Her comment – “I have tea from three years ago I haven’t used yet!” A cousin has cats, so I got her a collectible cat figurine. She said, “I have so many, I don’t know where I’m going to put this.” Another cousin likes antiques and I got her some older pressed glass pieces, but still no apparent appreciation or enthusiasm for the costly gift. I can’t seem to please anyone.
Any suggestions?
Maybe it’s not you. It seems like you put a lot of thought into your gifts and try to personalize them. Sounds like the people you give them to are not very appreciative. Next time I might give a gift card and see what the response would be.
