Opal Satin
What is the visible difference between Opal, Satin, and Agouti dwarf hamsters?
Well, first of all, Opal and Agouti are colors. Satin is a coat type.
Satin gives the coat a very shiny sheen and with Campbell’s dwarf hamsters, make it stick up in clumps, almost as though they’ve been sprayed with oil.
Opal is a slate blue-grey color, with ochre or orangey highlights down the sides and a cream underbelly.
Agouti is the “normal” color. It is the ticked-brownish color that many wild rodents are, including mice, rats, and rabbits. This is the color Campbell’s hamsters are naturally, in the wild.
