Sour Cream Glass
Is this a good, healthy meal schedule for me?
I am a 17 year old guy, 5’10, weighing 134 pounds, and this is the meal layout for a typical day for me. I am wondering if its a good schedule or should I make some changes to it?
8:00 AM – Breakfast:
Bowl of cereal with 2% milk and a banana. Glass of water. (approx 400 calories)
11:30 AM – Lunch:
Two sandwhiches with ham and sour cream. Glass of water. (approx 500 calories)
3:00 PM – Snack:
Pizza bun or cheesestick and grapes. Glass of water. (approx 200 calories)
6:00 PM – Dinner
Scrambled eggs with 2 pieces of bread and a few oatmeal cookies with milk (approx 500 calories)
9:00 PM – Evening snack:
Bowl of cereal with 2% milk (approx 400 calories)
134 lbs seems thin for a 5’10″ frame…..really thin…..first thing I’d recommend is adding more to your diet–less carbs but more protein. And you need more fruits/veggies.
In this example, you only have 2 servings of fruits/veggies—you should try to get at least 4 or 5 servings a day to be healthy.
You are definitely getting enough milk and carbs. Milk is great for a growing body—I wouldn’t limit it.
All those carbs are fine if you are eating good ones–like whole grain bread and high fiber cereals–and we’re not talking about Wonder Bread and Cocoa Puffs. Other than that–you’re doing fine.
