Do Graphic Designs Equate Art?
This Graphic Designer’s ‘I Love NY’ logo quickly spread across the state via tons of bumper stickers, t-shirts and buttons. It was a phenomenon of epic proportion. An entire generation can quickly recognize the design he created of a famous singer; the silhouette has a crown of rainbow colored lightning bolts for hair. To get a closer look on graphic design outsourcing visit this site.
Anyone who owns vinyl records from the 60′s probably has one or two of his famous designs right in their own home. His widely-known work is known to millions of people, even if his name isn’t, but does this mean it is to be considered art? If you were to ask him he would refuse to even discuss the art vs. design debate. He’d rather we just didn’t use the word ‘art’. The graphic designer, in a studio interview, said that the word ‘art’ should be deleted and everything should be referred to as work. Then when something is extraordinary, we could simply refer to it as great work. We call it excellent when it performs a function, and we call it bad if it happens to miss the target.
A major exhibit by this man illuminated the deviations of the ‘Picasso of Design.’ The Exhibit utilized vibrant, red nylon rope to show that the work is connected to its origins, and it included sketches and process drawings. This is the process he follows. You aren’t really aware of where you will end up, and you come to the resolution that is derived from curiosity and discovery.
Inspiration can come from every day things, such as a postcard sporting an angel and a pair of paper wings. A postcard of an angel with some paper wings, for instance, led to a painted variation of the initial theme. A well-known comic strip is mounted on the opposing side of yet another famed art piece. This piece features a well-known pianist sneezing, a satire on the “stuffy” nature of old classical music. You will find that further information on outsource design is on that site.
The artist refers to the world as his visual resource. A famous painting’s theme inspired his message in the poster he created for an Italian typewriter company. In the original piece, a dog lies mourning by the feet of its deceased master. The dog is resting next to a red typewriter in the poster.
Thanks to his design an extremely influential studio was opened in New York bringing the concept of design to exciting new heights. He also co-founded one of New York’s major magazines, which influenced the tone of magazines all over the country. A famous trade center boasts a permanent exhibition as well as an observation deck and restaurants; these are all his work. The international AIDS symbol and poster are his work, as is the design of a supermarket chain. He likes to push the boundaries of design, which is one of the reasons he doesn’t like the singular term art as a descriptive of what he does, as he likes to do a little bit of everything.
With over at least six million copies printed and distributed to the public, his celebrated poster of a male singer is amongst his most prized pieces. The profile in this elaborate and wild work can also be traced back to a piece by another famous artist, to which the graphic designer’s work was a response. Some have suggested the graphic designer must have been taking mind-altering chemicals when he created it. He has never said he took drugs, illegal or otherwise. Besides two-dimensional designs he’s also created massive playgrounds for both children and adults.

Audioslave $5.04 The debut of thundering supergroup Audioslave–featuring members of Rage Against the Machine post-Zack de la Rocha with ex-Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell–is as much curio as fascinating blend of visions. Cornell might be outnumbered, but his unmistakable holler and nihilistic imagery ensure that Audioslave, the album, recalls early Soundgarden. That’s especially true since de la Rocha took Rage… |

The Secret of NIMH $0.77 In his book, Robert C. O’Brien called his brave widow mouse “Mrs. Frisby,” but Disney escapee animator Don Bluth must have thought kids would laugh the wrong way at that. They renamed her “Mrs. Brisby” for NIMH. That acronym stands for the National Institute of Mental Health, and the rats that live near Mrs. Brisby came from NIMH–they have strange ways. But they’re the only ones who can save her … |

Includes liner notes by Chris Heath. All tracks have been digitally remastered.BEHAVIOUR was the Pet Shop Boys’ first truly mature album, but its follow-up, 1993′s VERY, proved to be their masterpiece. On the surface, VERY is the duo’s most carefree album, a modern dance-floor update of the kitchen-sink production and swelling melodies of a classic ABBA album. Just barely underneath, Neil Tennant’s lyrics keep their layers of mordant wit, but drop the self-protective irony in favor of writing truthfully about the lives of gay men in the early ’90s, regrouping in the face of AIDS.To that end, the album starts with “Can You Forgive Her?,” a drop-dead-gorgeous song directed to a closeted young man whose “girlfriend” wants to call off her part in the charade, and it wraps up with a completely heartfelt and unironic version of the Village People’s “Go West” that views the unfettered hedonism of the original with a palpable sense of regret. In between, “Yesterday, When I Was Mad” and “I Wouldn’t Normally Do This Kind of Thing” are among the duo’s finest singles. |
